Early Childhood Education
St. Mark Child and Family Development Center offers premiere early childhood education year-round for infants, toddlers and pre-school aged children. We make sure children are ready for kindergarten with a quality learning program that enhances intellectual, social, physical and emotional development.
St. Mark is the only Head Start-affiliated, early childhood development provider with regularly scheduled hours and consistent services in the neighborhood and the only N.A.E.Y.C. (National Association for the Education of Young Children) accredited program in the 64127 zip code. The facility is open from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., five days a week, year round except holidays and KCMSD (Kansas City, Missouri Public Schools) snow day closures.
Working in collaboration with Jackson County COMBAT (Community-backed anti-drug tax), UICS provides information to residents to raise awareness of support services to prevent and/or treat alcohol abuse and violence. Community Outreach efforts of UICS emphasize the importance of parental engagement and healthy youth development.
Arts@St. Mark connects St. Mark students and their families to high quality arts experiences provided by Kansas City visual and performing artists, including classroom activities; exhibitions; and community performances and events delivered both on and off-site that serve the entire 12th Street corridor.
