Early Childhood Education

UICS-St. Mark, Metro, and North Centers offer premiere early childhood education year-round for infants, toddlers and pre-school aged children. We make sure children are ready for kindergarten  with a quality learning program that enhances intellectual, social, physical and emotional development.

All UICS centers are Head Start-affiliated early childhood development providers with regularly scheduled hours and consistent services in the Kansas City Metro area, and one of few N.A.E.Y.C. (National Association for the Education of Young Children) accredited program in the city. Our facilities are open from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., five days a week, year round except holidays and emergency (i.e. snow day) closures.

Community Outreach

Working in collaboration with Jackson County COMBAT (Community-backed anti-drug tax), UICS provides information to residents to raise awareness of support services to prevent and/or treat alcohol abuse and violence. Community Outreach efforts of UICS emphasize the importance of parental engagement and healthy youth development. UICS continuously works with area partners and organizations that represent each school’s community for health, wellness, and connectivity.

Arts@UICS

Arts@UICS connects students and their families to high quality arts experiences provided by Kansas City visual and performing artists, including classroom activities; exhibitions; and community performances and events delivered both on and off-site that serve the entire metro area.
