About United Inner City Services
United Inner City Services (UICS) is a multi-service community based agency that has served Kansas City, Missouri's 12th Street corridor since 1967. Over the years, UICS has addressed the issues of the urban core including employment, emergency assistance, housing, violence intervention, early childhood education and youth services.
UICS serves as a neighborhood anchor, providing a safe, warm, and inviting site for a variety of social services, early education programs, community arts programs, and neighborhood outreach.
About St. Mark Center
St. Mark Center is home to the signature early learning programs at United Inner City Services (UICS), and recognized as one of the best providers in the city. In 2004, UICS opened the state-of-the-art St. Mark Center to expand upon its Head Start and other early learning initiatives.
Renowned for its exceptional caliber of programs, the Center aims to build a foundation for academic and life success. An innovative, arts-infused curriculum connects students and families to uniquely diverse experiences.
