Impact

Annually, United Inner City Services serves more than 1,000 families through our early childhood education, family and community programs.

The findings of a 2013 program evaluation study of St. Mark Child and Family Development Center by the UMKC School of Education confirm the effectiveness of our program in achieving the goal of kindergarten readiness. Tracking graduates from St. Mark into their kindergarten classrooms, the study reveals:

78% of St. Mark students were able to regulate behavior with 30% performing better than the average child.

91% of St. Mark students were able to take care of own needs and belongings with 52% performing better than the average child.

100% of St. Mark students were able to relate positively with peers with 39% performing better than the average child.

99% of St. Mark students were able to relate positively with adults with 48% performing better than the average child.
